Description

Mono synth

Basic is a very simple three-oscillator mono subtractive synth, low on CPU.

While it is designed with ease-of-use, low cost, and simplicity in mind, the panel sits in front of a powerful modern synthesizer engine with an aggressive tone and self-resonating filters that scream when pushed.

- Three alias-free wavetable oscillators with six waveforms each, and oscillator sync.
- A pair of cascaded filters featuring MS20-style lowpass and highpass, and a bandpass of our own design.
- A four-waveform tempo-syncable LFO with waveshaper.
- ADSR envelopes for amplitude and filter frequency.
- User-definable soft-saturation.
- A simple and easy-to-understand workflow, inspired by the classic topology of vintage analog synths like the Minimoog, SEM, and MS20, but with modern usability.
- Touchscreen-friendly and highly visible user interface.
- DRM-free, for easy installation and updating.

We have revved the OS X version of Basic to 1.0.1 to address a couple problems with the AudioUnit. If you use the AU version of Basic, this is a recommended update. If you use only the VST OS X version, or you use Windows, there is no need to install this update. Changes: 1. For some inexplicable reason, the version string in the lower right-hand corner was displaying the LFO speed instead of version. We have fixed that. 2. Some AU users were complaining that the audio session was killed when Basic was instanced. We _believe_ we have fixed that
